No data sale, ever
We never sell location history, trips, or personal data to advertisers, brokers, or third parties. Period.
No ads on paid
Free has minimal non-tracking ads. Pro, Platinum, Trucking and Logistics are 100% ad-free.
Encrypted & minimal
Location encrypted in transit, stored only to provide routing and hazard reports. Delete anytime.
What we collect
- Account: Email, name you provide, subscription status via Stripe. No card numbers — Stripe handles billing.
- Location: Only while navigating or reporting a hazard, to calculate routes and place pins. Not tracked in background unless you enable family safety.
- Hazard reports: Type, photo you attach, GPS you approve, timestamp. Community-verified for accuracy.
- Device: Basic device type for crash reports. No ad IDs harvested for sale.
What we never do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your location, trips, or personal data.
- We do not show ads based on where you have been.
- We do not share driving patterns with insurers, employers, or advertisers.
- We do not keep your location history longer than needed to provide your requested features. You can delete history in Settings.
How we use data
To provide turn-by-turn routing, avoid low bridges for your truck dimensions, show nearby fuel/parking, and warn other drivers of hazards you report. Aggregated, de-identified hazard counts (e.g. "12 hazards today near Rochester") may be displayed but never linked to you.
City & Fleet data
Municipality reports: when you report a pothole to a town, that town sees the pin, photo, and timestamp to fix it. Towns agree not to resell resident data and delete per their own retention policy, typically 2 years. Fleet: drivers share live location with their own fleet dispatch only, not with other fleets.
Your controls
- Delete trips and saved places anytime from app → Settings → Privacy.
- Export your data: email privacy@whereyatinc.com and we send JSON within 7 days.
- Opt-out of community pins: toggle anonymous mode and your reports show as community, not your handle.
